We have exciting opportunities for Chargehand Linesmen to join our team.

The role:

This is a fantastic opportunity for you to lead a team of up to four linesmen constructing and delivering all aspects of overhead line works up to 33kV, and you may occasionally work as part of a larger team.  You will work on a variety of challenging projects replacing conductors and wood poles, and larger scale projects involving overhead line route diversions.  

The responsibilities:

  • To construct/maintain/replace overhead electrical networks up to 33kV.
  • To carryout, continuously review and brief your team on hazards and risks associated with each project.
  • To complete required project documentation.
  • To lead by example and motivate your team to safely undertake works as directed.
  • To work safely at all times and in line with Company and statutory safety requirements.
  • To ensure that all work is carried out efficiently and in accordance with Company procedures and client/Company distribution safety rules.
  • Install and construct overhead electricity networks to relevant construction standards and exacting quality standards.
  • To highlight any concerns, unsafe conditions or acts to your line manager. 
  • To mentor team members and provide guidance to management on construction/safety issues.
  • To interact with members of the public in a polite and courteous manner.

  • A team player that is enthusiastic and willing to participate in achieving a class-leading business.
  • People with current DNO authorisations (Live LV Working, Work on Dead Networks, Receive Safety Documents, LV Switching and Linking, Substation Access)
  • People with IPAF accreditation
  • People with a full driving licence
  • NRSWA Operative
  • NPTC Chainsaw qualification
  • People who can use tablet devices.
  • People with a risk adverse attitude.

What would be beneficial:

  • IOSH Working safely qualification
  • Driving licence with C1+E category
  • City & Guilds 2339 (formally 2322)
  • Winch Operation
